Here’s what some of our our customers say about Country Grounds Maintenance Ltd:
Alec – Environment Agency, October 2018
“We would like to pass on my thanks to the CGM Group for the ongoing work around excluding badgers from the raised embankments within the Lincs and Northants area.
Badger Setts within raised embankments in fenland catchments are becoming an increasing issue to the Environment Agency as badger populations increase. The material excavated out by badgers burrowing can weaken the asset, leading to failure when loaded by water. There is little in the way of case study for excluding badgers from flood defences and the longer term related management. The partnership work between yourselves and the Environment Agency that has been ongoing since the start of the framework has been pioneering and represents excellent value for money. We have successfully excluded the badgers, fixed the asset and ensured properties are protected and environmentally mitigated in a number of high risk locations across the area.
I look forward to continuing this partnership work.”
Just a note of thanks for the grass cutting you have carried out so far across the catchment.
My team have been very complementary of the operators and from the cutting I have seen really impressed along with others. If you could pass on my thanks to the operators that would be great.
On another note I randomly came across your stump grinding team while working the Coronation Channel at Spalding yesterday. They were doing a fantastic, high quality job. This was an excellent opportunity to carry out some active monitoring which I need to get recorded on our EA health and safety system. The site was really neat and tidy with signs/barriers and banks man in place. All PPE was as expected. The operators were very knowledgeable and could explaining in detail about what they were doing and the risks involved and knew where the site was for welfare. I was really happy and impressed !The risk management documents was in their van (I did see it in the windows when I walked past) could you forward me a copy sometime so I can sign off the audit please. Again please could you reiterate my thanks to the site team.
Regards Alec – EA

Richard Riseborough – Barney Playing Field Committee, April 2017
“Fantastic work again at Barney Playing Fields please pass on our comments. In the last week alone, eight people have commented on the playing field looking the best it’s ever looked for 15 years.’
Mark Fawkes – Freebridge Community Housing, May 2016
“The service offered by CGM was fantastic – after an initial telephone conversation with Adrian arrangements were made to treat multiple properties. Adrian was thoroughly professional & courteous with the tenants involved, even taking it upon himself to carry out follow up phone calls. Adrian kept me in the loop with periodic updates & advising the best course of action.
I would recommend CGM’s Pest Control service for their friendly, approachable service & dedicated staff.”
Satisfied Clients – Denver, Norfolk, April 2016
“We had an alarming rodent infestation in our roof space during Winter 2015 and called upon CGM’s Pest Control Supervisor for help. He provided an efficient, knowledgeable and effective service at what we considered to be a fair price for an initial assessment and two follow up visits. Should the need arise, we wouldn’t hesitate to call upon his services again.’
Mr & Mrs Gee – Downham Market, November 2015
“Recently we had our large ash tree pruned by your tree department. We were very impressed with the workmanship. The men were punctual, efficient and tidy. We are delighted with the finished result.”
Matthew Poll – Norwich Research Park, August 2015
“Two members of the CGM team have been working on the Norwich Research Park undertaking essential maintenance to a number of trees across the park. On the 4th August while working in the Northern area of the Park they found a man lying on the ground clearly confused and in some distress. They suspected he was having a heart attack and called for an ambulance and alerted the Park first aiders. They kept watch over the person until the ambulance arrived. The man was taken to hospital but fortunately he had not suffered heart attack and only required minor treatment.
The Norwich Research Park would like to thank the CGM team for their swift action and their consideration for others which may well have prevented a more serious outcome for the person involved.”
Diane Davis – Sawtry Parish Council, July 2015
“We are very pleased with both the service and the operatives on site. CGM Group has coped very well with us changing our minds and have always done it with a smile on their faces.”
Jon Woolley – Mears Group Plc, November 2014
“I would have no hesitation in recommending CGM to anyone concerned. Since gaining the Cross Keys Homes contract in October 2013 they have turned the contract round by sheer hard work, improvements in practices and leaner working methods. The staff are always amiable whether you are talking to a director or operative, the work ethic that runs throughout the business is wonderful allowing us to meet our KPI’s every month.”
Alan Daniels – Environmental Agency, October 2014
“Our responsibility to the environment is at the heart of everything we do and CGM fully engages with us when planning and undertaking works. They have become our eyes and ears on the ground over vast areas of our land for which we are responsible. This local knowledge and experience is invaluable and provides that added value that we seek from our contractor partners.”
Ian Nelson – Clerk of Hempnall Parish Council, September 2014
“CGM has done an incredible job in cutting the grass this year through difficult long periods of rain. Through liaison between the contractor and myself we have manged to find an agreeable and very satisfactory understanding.”
