County Grounds Maintenance (CGM) have teamed up with Sanctuary Housing and John Youngs Ltd to create a recreational garden in a day at the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust’s (BIRT) Fen House in Ely.
CGM created a picturesque garden which will be enjoyed by many of the BIRT users, families and visitors with staff from the Sanctuary Housing Group coming from throughout the country to support the day. Very generous donations from other local suppliers were also gratefully received.
Chris Taylor, Business Development & Projects Manager worked to create the garden on the day and was delighted with the response received.
“It was a really rewarding day,” said Chris. “CGM specialise in providing expert landscaping and to be able to put this into practice for such a worthwhile cause as BIRT was very rewarding and we hope the many users get a lot of joy from it.”
Cas Anderson-Dixon, Rehabilitation Co-ordinator at Fen House was overwhelmed by the success of the day: “The challenge not only brought together the Ely community but also people and companies from Cambridgeshire and Norfolk.
“Everyone was working together with one goal in mind, to create a small garden haven at Fen House. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who supported the day, particularly to Sanctuary Housing, John Youngs and Country Grounds Maintenance for making it all possible. Teamwork has made our dream come true.”
