CGM Fen 10 Again Well Run

Date: October 27, 2014

Country Grounds Maintenance (CGM) were delighted to sponsor this year’s Fenland 10 running race, taking place on Sunday, October 26.

The event attracted the biggest field of entrants for many years with 277 finishers. John Pike of Newham and Essex Beagles was first home in a sub 1 hour time of 0.56.14 and local runner Matt Pyatt from Hunts AC was second, just 12 seconds off the lead in a time of 0.56.26.

First lady home was Jo Coates of Bury St Edmunds Pacers in 9th place, again sub 1 hour in 0.59.15. Hunts AC also took the Men’s Team Prize (Matt Pyatt, John Uff and Steven Church). Local club March AC took the Ladies Team Prize (Debra Wait, Karen Patterson and Geraldine Larham). Peter Downing once again won the wheelchair race in a time of 1.18.11.
For Fenland, Gary Bliigh and Maire Irlam were the first male and female runners’ home in times of 1.04.10 and 1.12.37 respectively. Most impressive though, was the fact that Neil Bailey, Dan Carrington, Ian King, Tracy Howard and Tracy Farr, who came to the Fenland Running Club via the ‘Beginners’ classes held in June and July successfully completed their first ever 10 mile race.
